| Choose
the location of the WinTel Disk Image to create. Either
click on the "Choose Location..." or type in a
valid path and (new) file name. For our tutorial, use the
field on the right of the "Choose Location..."
button and type:
~/XP-Pro
This designates to create a WinTel Hard Disk image titled
"XP-Pro.img" in your home directory.
Of course you are free to name the image as you please,
where you please. If you do, just make sure you substitue
your name and path for "~/XP-Pro" for the remainder
of this tutorial. |
 |
| Choose
the size for the hard disk you would like to create. After
you have chosen an adequate size for your needs, click on
the "Create Disk" button. The larger the image,
the longer it will take to create the image. Open a Finder
window, and click on the "Home" icon. You will
find a "XP-Pro.img" file. It will grow in size until
it reaches the size of the disk it was set to create.
Windows XP needs at least 1.2 GB. We choose 4.0 GB for this
tutorial. The disk image will only use as much space as data that is on it. So when the disk is blank it will be very small, and as data is added to it, it will grow in size. We like 4GB so that we can always back up the disk image to a DVD, but the size is of-course up to you. |
